Certified Quality Engineer

Summary
The Certified Quality Engineer working in conjunction with Quality Department Manager is
responsible for performing audits, and inspections of finished goods and/or raw material to
ensure that the final product meets customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Quality Department Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for
performing audits, and inspections of finished goods and/or raw material to ensure that the final product meets customer expectations.

  • Perform First Article Check and complete corresponding documentation for all products
  • Perform daily in process auditing of all production lines to ensure conformance to
  • customer requirements
  • Complete Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAIR) on
  • new products
  • Perform daily review of rejected parts and investigate root cause. Prepare Correction
  • Action Reports as necessary
  • Prepare Risk Analysis Reports as necessary
  • Work with all departments to resolve quality questions and concerns in a timely manner
  • Collect, report and analyze quality data from all shifts
  • Ensure all department tools, gauges and measuring devices are in working order, report
  • issues as required
  • Maintain all quality system calibration records to ensure all calibrations are performed
  • timely
  • Train machine operators in the use of all gauging required at press
  • Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing
  • processes or methods that affect quality.
  • Perform process capability studies; recommends changes to improve quality.
  • Operate and program CMM and Keyence equipment
  • Apply principles of ISO processes to daily work habits
  • Participate on cross functional teams to address and resolve quality problems and to
  • ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.
  • Follow all housekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with all quality and safety regulations.

Education and/or Experience
Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering and two to three years of related experience, or seven to ten years of progressively responsible related experience, or a combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and ISO and ASME Codes. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with managers, vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move reports, files, office supplies, etc. weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
